Information for case studies on selected artists

Background

Georges Braque (1882-1963) followed his "own, restrained version of Fauvism". He was influenced by Cezanne to develop Cubism, in a 'painterly' fashion. He was a pioneer in the art of inserting letters and numbers into his works and to recognise the scope of collage and papier collage. He explored spatial values.
