Based on Bram Stokers' Dracula, this remains one of the most impressive silent features of all time. Thomas Hutter is sent from the German town of Wisborg to Transylvania to negotiate the sale of a house to a Count Orlok. Initially dismissive of his beautiful wife's premonitions and the warnings of the local villagers and gypsies, Hutter realises only too late that Orlok is a vampire.
